hisoka SG

play too much in jc?

KKK84 SG

Laughing Cldnt give a damn. cos i knew i only wanted a place in engineering, not law or medicine. But then again, ABB isnt tat bad rite?? Once u get into uni, u'll realise A levels dun mean anything. Those who did badly in the As tend to work harder in uni. Wink

renorenal SG

Hahaha... yeah... A levels means nothing once you are in the university, it just means something to the entry application forms and the interview...

KKK84 SG

Hmm... is it sacrasm I'm sensing??? Laughing Anyway, doing well in the A levels or poly doesnt mean u wld do the same in uni. Those who tend to get 1st class and 2nd upper are the hardworking ones. U dun need to be really hardworking to ace ur As. In uni, its a different ball game altogether.

sinicker SG

u’re making it seem as if i shudnt study at all for my As in 2 weeks’ time.

renorenal SG

Nope... no sarcasm at all...

Been there, done that... some of my friends enter with medical school with a SAM of 99.99 but end up failing all the subjects of the medical topics... whereas people who score less uses logic to outwit the other students and they surprisingly hit the distinction list so many times...

The highest dropout rate in medical school are those who scores the best in their pre-U, and this is no kidding...

KKK84 SG

Laughing No. U shld study. But do it smartly. Dunno abt ur time, but during mine, I just had to spot questions from the TYS.

hisoka SG

not really i see lots of smart pple getting the first and 2nd uppers. while some of the really hardworkign ones actually do pretty badly.

oh and regarding the A lvl entry requirement, i heard for the 2002 intake the requirements for nus common engin was like AAB so still might need pretty high

renorenal SG

I wouldn't say it is not important and shouldn't study, what I meant to say is that it is nothing compared to the examinations you will be facing once you are into uni life... it is what trains you to work in future, rather than training you to get you to another institution, so it is a totally different thing...

I sat for my A Levels in 1999... and gosh, while I was at it, everything was so tough... last time we had this 1 year course for A Levels and that's why we have everything compacted... I didn't do that well, but I got into the uni, and that's enough for me Mr. Green
